Ekommunity is a space for everyone looking for deeper experiences. We offer bamboo dormitories, comfy tents elevated on wooden decks, healthy food and a yoga deck by the river. More importantly, we offer space and community to replenish body, mind and spirit.
Driven by adventure, travel and freedom, Laura Camus and Mathieu Ouellette made the big leap and decide to leave Canada in 2016 to build the life they ever wanted. Traveling through Indonesia, the couple’s vision became clear : choose and buy land, slow down and create a space for visitors that would allow them to experience our love for this alternative lifestyle. "I immediately felt a connection with the local culture and people. This is where I felt at home, even on the far side of the world " adds Mathieu.
It took two years to build the Ekommunity eco lodge. In October 2018, the couple welcomes their first guests with the opening of four bedrooms. Gradually, their lodging offer diversifies and they open The Botanist restaurant.
People from all over the world come to visit the Ekommunity to experience the jungle reboot craving to slow down and disconnect in order to reconnect to what truly matters: nature, good people, healthy food. The couple now works to create a bamboo sanctuary that resonates with their vision of a better world. This new modern bamboo building will house a spectrum of creative and cultural activities like classes, workshops, yoga and circus activities and retreats all-year-round, rainy season or not.
